Murata’s Robot Balances on a single Wheel

September 25, 2008

You can ride a bicycle having two wheels, but have you thought of riding on one wheel? Sure , some waiters in Eastern Spain restaurants can do, but it cannot be our cup of tea. That too without practice? Naah…right?

Seiko is Murata’s invention that rides a unicycle and weighs about 11 pound, 20 inch tall. Seiko relies on a chest mounted gyro that keeps it upright and also,  it has bluetooth to communicate to a PC. Ofcourse, it must have a PC to give it instructions?

We saw it rolling out on one wheel at CEATEC, JAPAN 2008.
