Samsung B9000 HDTVs

April 23, 2009

Samsung has recently announced 46″ and 55″ HDTVs from the B9000 series that are actually sequels of the A950 models released sometime last year. These additions offer LED backlights alongside localized dimming to ensure you get the sharpest image possible, while Media 2.0 with YouTube/Yahoo! Widgets support add another dimension of interactivity. A built-in USB port allows you to view your favorite photos over a big screen, while DLNA functionality and a wireless connection to the external media box further adds to the overall desirability of the product. Too bad Samsung has not revealed important information such as pricing or availability, but that’s just a matter of time really.

LED Message Display USB Mouse

April 5, 2009

Known as the LED Message Mouse (very inventive) the device is, a wholly rudimentary device in offering a bog standard 800pdi optical tracking but, to its credit (or not) it’s the first mouse we’ve come across to date that comes bundled with its own remote – which is used to input your message (up to 12 characters). Having input your message, you can then sit back and watch as it’s animated before you whilst rotating, fading in and out and, well, you get the picture.

On and above the integrated LED display, you can also factor in the mouse’s comfort fans that blow air through a series of holes framing the circular LED display window, thus ensuring that your palm stays sweat free as you hold the mouse in an attempt to cover the bright animated display on account of it giving you a migraine. Very thoughtful.

The supremely tacky LED Message Mouse retails in Japan for the equivalent of around $21.

Diguang of China has released its latest range of LED monitors that are 19″ in size, but measure a mere 13.3mm thick while tipping the scales at just 2.5kg – that’s roughly half the weight of a standard 19″ model. Besides, Diguang makes sure their LED monitors are environmentally friendly by virtue of being mercury-free wihle emitting extremely low levels of VLF and ELF (very low frequency and extremely low frequency) emissions compared to television-style CRT monitors. They consume only 20 watts of power on average, helping you save a considerable amount of money each month if your organization is still stuck with comparable 19″ CCFL monitors.
