Axiotron Modbook 2009 Updated
December 8, 2008
The newly updated Axiotron Modbook is cleverly designed and impressively versatile. To create the Modbook, Axiotron integrates its own hardware and software technology with a state-of-the-art Wacom Penabled digitizer and an Apple MacBook computer.

Based on a MacBook, the ModBook will come with a bunch of enhancements such as :-
* Full Bluetooth connectivity
* Lightweight design
* Scratch-resistant exterior
* Upgraded drawing surface
* AnyView LCD/ForceGlass screen cover
* GPS navigation
* Improved pen tablet performance
New software pre-loaded include Autodesk SketchBook Express. Prices for the Axiotron ModBook begins from $1,299 upwards, depending on the specifications you choose. It might sound a wee bit expensive, but it will probably be much cheaper compared to anything equivalent that Apple rolls out so count your blessings.
Lenovo ThinkPad X301
December 7, 2008
The ThinkPad X301 boasts the same 13.3-inch display, 3.3-pound weight, and 0.7-inch thickness as its predecessor, the ThinkPad X300. In fact, with the exception of a new DisplayPort connector, the X301’s case is essentially identical to that of the X300, right down to the built-in DVD burner. The real change is inside the case: Lenovo has stocked the X301 with Intel’s latest Centrino 2 platform, including the just-released ultra-low-voltage Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor.
The new CPU helped the ThinkPad X301 realize measurable gains over its predecessor on our performance benchmarks, though it trailed similar systems that were built on full-voltage Centrino 2 processors, such as the Fujitsu LifeBook T1010. The trade-off, of course, is that the ThinkPad X301 outlasted those systems on our battery drain tests. Though our biggest complaint with this ultrasleek ThinkPad remains the price–the base configuration costs $2,605 and goes up from there–we still recommend it for frequent travelers seeking portability and usability without sacrifice. That said, users looking for a slightly less expensive ultraportable may want to consider the 12-inch ThinkPad X200.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X301 comes out within the price range of $23ll00 - $2600.
